Well most of you should know by now that Viz is taking action against subbing groups (duh) and now they have taken out kuro hana fansubs which distributes Death Note. I think it sucks, especially at 2 episodes from the ending. does anyone knows of other company not taken out by viz yet that guves death note subs?

Here's the letter from Viz Media LLC itself!

Yeah, although it says no later than Friday June 22 of 2007, do you think that Kuro-hana will take it to a next step and sub their final episode on the Wednesday before? Kuro-hana recieved the letter on the 12 of June and consists till June 22, which is about enough time for epsiode 36 to be released.

Even though Viz has Licensed Death Note, they haven't distributed any episodes yet. not sure of what to make of it.

I try to compare Death Note to all the other licensed anime, such as Bleach (which has been licensed by the same company: Viz Media), and you still see sites over the net that are distributing subbed episodes.

Something I'm missing here?

ZOMG that p*sses me off! How can a company like Viz try to manipulate Death Note to that extent, i mean without fansubs the general anime community would not be interested in it. They better dub Death Note as best possible, with no changes or censorship and bad ass voice actors, or i will be F***ing P*ssed! WTF!!! Sadly kuro-hana is the only deathnote fansub i know about... and if they try to be f*** over bleach fansubs or naruto fansubs i dont know what i would do...

People your forgetting an important fact, Before you go abusing viz and other companies understand that what fansubbing does on the internet is the gray area of the law..Not quite legal and not quite super illegal.

Companies like viz tolerate fansubbing groups as long as when an anime is licensed the fansubbing groups stop subbing it so the companie can continue to make money.

It's a relationship of respect between the two comminuitys..So before you abuse them understand that they're in it as a job and a life..Fansubbers do it as a hobby and not for profit.

According to the letter, Viz is allowing them to release the final episode. They just can't distribute past next Friday.

You really can't get too mad at them. They have to eat too you lnow. Its their business doing this stuff, their job. I'm sure they think of people like fansubbers and their patrons as pirates. At least their leting it go until the 22nd, they could have ended it now.
Anyway, I hope that Deathnote makes it to [adult swim].
