I still make amv's although I stopped posting them on the internet about 3 months ago as i was always getting busted for copyright infringement. Now I just show my friends and stuff. My latest amv is for Kimi Ga Nozumu Eien to the song Memories by within temptations with some clips from the oav for the series.

how do u get copywrite infringement? i never heard of ne gettin busted for amvs...

I've made a handful in Windows Movie Maker. 90% of what I make doesn't end up for the publics eye. I've got a couple on my youtube account, but the rest are usually just sent to friends.

AMV's technically aren't legal at all. You're using copyrighted music and video to make them without permission. They aren't treated as harshly as say downloading music or said video, but it's nevertheless still infringement.

Precisely..but still there are those whitch manage to escape deletion by youtube & that kind of website managers. How? Pretty simple: they put that regular warning like ' Copyright of each trademark belongs to their respective owners'.
Not sure if this really works but as far as I've seen it does.
BTW I'm making an AMV based on the Soi Fong - Bounto fight in SS..more info ina few weeks

It only worked for one of my amv's but after that another of my amv's got copyright infringement so they deleted my account and the video that managed to slip through the cracks went with it.

I do the odd AMV. I've got two on the 'tube at present, both made with windows movie maker (officially the world's least stable program).

AMVs are fun to make, but my gorram' exams prevent me from dedicating any time to some of the ones I'd like to try.

Yeah, I've put trademarks in several times, and I've had quite a few of mine deleted even so. Which is why I've got most of my stuff listed as private and only viewable to friends and people who subscribe.

Kinda stupid law though. A lot of people like AMV's. It's not like we're showing the entire show in a video. How I see it, it's free advertisement. But eh, the RIAA and most anime companies are psycho with their copyrights. Oh well.

Making AMW's I think is very difficult taks for me to do... I tryed it once but I didn't managed to do it. So I leave it for pros and just ejoi theirs hard work of success, though.

I just started making amvs, my longest one yet is a kingdom hearts musival movie that spans about 12 minutes on my website.

Yeah ur right. Still that doesnt and anyhow it shouldnt discourage people from making more and more AMVs. So basicly its just a futile attempt to show ppl that they still have some control over things.
